Is there any benefit from simply knowing what to do? Think about it.
- Does knowing a lot about fitness and nutrition make you healthy?
- Does knowing all about cars make you a good driver?
- Does knowing a bunch about gardening get your lawn mowed?
Nope.
Knowing the right stuff is just the beginning. The magic happens when we do something with what we know. That’s why Jesus said this as He wrapped up His sermon.
“I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching and then follows it. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built.”
Luke 6:47-48
