My wife planted a garden last week. We didn’t even bother trying to plant anything in the dirt of our backyard. We knew we’d need to get good soil if we wanted anything good to grow. Jesus made the same point in Luke 8 when He talked about a farmer spreading seed.
- Some seeds fell on a rocky path.
- Some landed on thorny ground.
- A few sunk into good soil . . . and sprang to life!
“The Seed on good soil stands for those whith a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it and by persevering produce a crop.”
Luke 8:15
Did you see what makes the good soil so good? What are the qualities of a noble heart? What characteristics are needed to foster life and growth?
- Listen
- Retain
- Persevere
Listen to what God has to say. Respond to it. Keep going.
