Later this week, I will be headed back to one of my favorite places on earth – Kenya. Beginning in 2011, I have visited there once a year up until 2019, making this my ninth trip. Traveling to the same villages each time enabled me to make real friends on the other side of the world. It still amazes me how many friends I have there.
The first time I went, Romans 1:12 became very real to me. “When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours. Romans 1:12NLT Mutual encouragement. Serving the same God in different ways, in different countries. God’s love is so evident in the villages of Karogoto and Tumutumu. The people there really depend on Him and believe on Him to provide for their daily needs.

One of the ways God provides, is through child sponsorship. In 2008, my husband Glen and I chose a student to sponsor. We really poured over who to choose. We decided on Jackson who lived with his grandmother. Little did I know that when I met him a few years later, he and I would become very close and keep in touch ever since. He is now graduated and married with a beautiful little girl whose name is Mary. I have seen first-hand the difference that child sponsorship makes in a child’s life andhow the entire school benefits. These funds allow for books and learning materials, better teachers, even better desks. If you would like to learn more, I am always available to talk. It’s probably one of my favorite topics!
I invite you to be a part of this journey. Please pray for travel mercies and good health for me and our team. Pray that we would be able to encourage others and share His love with everyone we meet. And consider the good that you could do through sponsoring a beautiful child. The opportunity is yours.
