Back to School

Today we went to Tumu Tumu Primary school where we were met by the smiling faces of children. Gods presence was there as we interacted with each of the children and their teachers within the community.

God made himself known through the welcoming we received in song, smiles and giggles 🤭 and through the curiosity they showed about the strange white people that visited their school. God was working through the CSU students as they led in the classrooms teaching the children new songs about God and helping them memorize scripture. The children were clamoring to be close to us and sought every opportunity to be with us. Much of the day was full of playing games, holding hands and giving hugs, asking for our names and birthdays! I saw Gods heart and hands working here in Kenya today. And God reminded me as I looked upon their faces that he sees us all as one unified for his purposes and his glory.

In Africa there are many customs such as formal speaking and by the end of the day it was time for one of the school leaders to share a word of encouragement with us. She was so thankful, delighting in everything that God Is doing here in Kenya and expressed her thankfulness to us American visitors. She reminded us of the power and impact that our support is to their community, that children being helpless cannot give us anything and that our treasure for our giving and sacrifice will be in heaven. What an encouragement it was! However, though these children may not have much to give according to worldly standards, they gave us the richest form of spiritual blessings, that is the deep and wide love and joy that they shared with us.

The love of Christ is so powerful here in Kenya. We have much to learn from our brothers and sisters here in Africa.
