Countdown from Kenya!

8 DAYS

What a whirlwind trip. Two days of driving, waiting and flying. Four days of traveling all over Kenya. Two more days of driving, waiting and flying. Whew!

7 LIONS

Our final day was at SweetWater Tent Camp, a spot we often take our teams to enjoy an African safari. I’ve been several times, but have never seen SEVEN LIONS hanging out in one field. It was very cool.

6 COVID TESTS

We had to have negative test results no sooner than 72 hours before our flights, so starting on Thursday (prior to departure), we started getting tested – Walgreens, Urgent Care, NEPA Clinic. No one could guarantee that we’d have our results in time. That’s why we got several tests. Then, when we arrived at JFK, we learned that we needed another (within 4 hours of flying to Amsterdam). So, we had 5 tests done prior to leaving the US. Then another in Kenya so that we could return. Our nostrils have never been wider!

5 COMMUNITIES

In the four days of our in-country travel, we visited 5 communities. Each is lead by a Leadership Council who is moving the community toward holistic transformation! Stronger churches, better schools, new businesses, clean water. It was very exciting to see what God is doing.

4 TEACHING TIMES

I really enjoyed a few opportunities to bring a word of encouragement or direction to our team, a class of 8th graders, the 410 Bridge Kenyan staff and a Leadership Council that is just beginning their term. Exciting stuff!

3 HEART-TO-HEART CONNECTIONS

We got to see our dear friend Pastor James Mwangi from Karogoto. We were able to visit with Cute, a 7th grader that we sponsor in Tumutumu. We had the chance to talk with Rose, the mother of a 10-grader (Lameck) that we sponsor. Such great connections with long-time partners.

2 FOR TEA

I’m so glad that Aimee could join me on this trip! Thanks to all of you who helped make that possible. We were often able to share a cup of tea together . . . something that we don’t get to do as often as we’d like.

1 REMARKABLE JOURNEY

We’re so glad to have had this opportunity. God is at work, inviting us to join Him!

walking with you,

paul and aimee
